The Department of Explosives and the Bangladesh CNG Filling Stations and Conversion Workshop Owners' Association have started distributing hologram stickers among the filling stations to check use of fabricated cylinders. The initiative was taken in the wake of recent explosions of substandard Compressed Natural Gas cylinders that killed several people. The latest cylinder explosion occurred on February 15 while a truck was refilling CNG at Energy Plus CNG Filling Station at Ganda in Savar. The accident left three persons killed and three others injured. The association on behalf of the department has printed one lakh stickers to be pasted to the CNG cylinders, Manaranjan Bhakta, vice-president of the association, told New Age.
