The hoarding screams 'Cherish a Memory, Plant a tree'. But go beyond the billboard and you come face to face with 572 trees standing in two feet deep sullage covered in algae and full of snakes. As many as 250 of these trees are dead, the others are struggling to survive in the five acre Smriti Van 91 set up by the Delhi Development Authority. The Smriti Van has been in this state for the past two years. The sullage from nearby villages which forms puddles all over the Van was earlier flowing into the area where the Sarai Kale Khan ISBT stands today. Once the bus stop came up, the sullage was diverted into the Van.
