Sumatra forests face threats

Sumatra's forests, once the most diverse in terms of plant species in the world, are becoming the latest casualties of the debt woes plaguing two of Asia's largest pulp companies.That, at least, is the opinion of Michael Stuwe, a U.S. zoologist working with the World Wide Fund for Nature environmental group to save what is left of the natural forest after years of uncontrolled logging by sawmill and plywood companies.
