An apex tribal council in Nagaland's Zunheboto district has decided to impose a ban on tree felling to stop 'wanton' destruction of forests, hunting and fishing within its area of influence. The Sumi Hoho at its recent meeting in Zunheboto resolved to undertake the measures for protecting the flora and fauna in the Sumi tribe inhabited areas of the State, the organisation said in a statement.
