Sundari tree may face extinction in future

Sundari tree in the Sundarbans the largest mangrove forest in the world may be extinct in the near future following massive attack by the 'top dying' disease, botanists said. According to the forest department, over five crores of Sundari trees in 15 compartments out of 55, in the forest have been attacked by the killer disease which eats up the tree from the top downwards.
