The Supreme Court ordered closure of all illegal commercial complexes, big showrooms and shops constructed in the Capital's residential areas in violation of the Master Plan for Delhi. The Court said that for the time being it was not touching small shop owners. A three-judge Bench comprising Chief Justice Y. K. Sabharwal, Justice B. N. Srikrishna and Justice R. V. Raveendran passing orders on a batch of applications relating to violations of the Master Plan directed the Municipal Corporation of Delhi to issue notices to the owners of such establishments individually as well as through advertisements in newspapers and said their premises should be sealed within 30 days if the misuse continued.
