The Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan is gathering momentum in the schools and elsewhere in the district. The special drive for the cleanliness started on Gandhi Jayanti, Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday, is continuing on all school premises, offices, market places and other parts of the town and villages.
Sacred Heart School, Indian Public School Jhumaritelaiya organised a pledge taking ceremony and cleanliness drive in the school premises to observe ‘Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan’ at schools on Tuesday. Pramod Singh, Director of Sacred Heart School said,” Although Mahatma Gandhi is not
here to guide us but his principles are certainly there to show the path.” Dharmendra Singh, Director of Indian Public School said, “The special cleanliness campaign started on October 2 is the best tribute to the man known for liberating millions. This would liberate ourselves from the curse of living on the heap of garbage.”
Students and teachers cleaned the school premises on the occasion. Teacher Bhushan Pandey conducted the oath ceremony at Indian Public School. The School captains Pranjal Singh, Isika Kumari, Priti Yadav Mohammad Zaid Salman, Rohit Kumar Roushan and Khushi Modi administered the pledge to the students.
