Task Force to take up 2 projects by year-end

The Task Force on inter-linking of rivers, headed by former Power Minister Suresh Prabhu, on Thursday decided to take up the Ken-Betwa link (involving Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh) and Prabati-Kalisindh-Chambal link (involving Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan) by the year end. A meeting of the Task Force also decided to take up Inchampally and Polavaram projects on river Godavari in Andhra Pradesh on priority basis. The Task Force has considered the proposal following Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's request to start inter-linking of river project in his State in the peninsular region.
