Tezpur AASU protests health sector anomalies

The Tezpur anchalik unit of AASU staged a strong protest on Tuesday against serious anomalies in appointment in the health sector by burning effigy of Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma and raising black flags against the process in front of the join director's office. The protestors seized appointment letters from five youths hailing from Kamrup district. In a press release issued by the president of Tezpur anchalik AASU, Jan Bora stated that some temporarily appointed malaria home workers and DDT spray workers have been demanding to regularise their posts and moved the court. Altogether, 35 employment aspirants from in and around Tezpur have been serving in the Health Department under the join director, health, Sonitpur since 1986. Though these people should have got first preference due in their experience, but they have been deprived from that right. Annual day: The Annual day of Kendriya Vidyalaya Lokra was celebrated on Friday with great pomp and gaiety. Chief guest Col, JS Bhoradwaj, Commandant of 43 Assam Rifles inaugurated the programme by lighting the ceremonial lamp. A Ekka, principal of KV Lokra welcomed the chief guest and other digniteries wherein he highlighted the aims and objective of the programme and how KV Lokra is dedicated in imparting education to the students. It was followed by a variety programme. The chief guest appraciated the performance of the children and collective efforts of the school on this front. PGT SK Sharma subsequently offered the vote of thanks.
