Thai officials are traveling on elephants to deliver text books, education kits and satellite dish antennas to tribes in remote jungle villages as part of a new campaign to eradicate illiteracy. Four elephants have been hired to transport educational material and television sets to villages inaccessible by vehicles in Chiang Mai province, about 700 km north of Bangkok.
