The third annual ranking of Indian States shows a deceptive calm at the top and some big churning in the middle. With 120 doctors per lakh people, Karnataka has the highest ratio of registered medical practitioners in the country. Among small states, Goa tops with a figure of 183. 63% of urban families in Nagaland are affluent - the highest in the country. The figure of Maharashtra is 36% whereas the national average is 32%.
