The Joint Parlimentary Committee (JPC)'s report confirming the presence of pesticide residues in some popular soft drinks is an important step forward. It should settle the controversy that has been generated on this issue after the New Delhi-based non-governmental organisation, the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), released its findings last August.
