This monument seeks a protector

Famous for the annual three-day festival phoolwaalon ki sair, Jharna in Mehrauli was a garden with cascades and fountains, making it an ideal Mughal retreat. Today, a filthy drain passing behind it is the only water body one can spot here. The monument itself has been reduced to a crater full of garbage and dry leaves. What sets apart Jharna from Shamsid Talao, behind a park across the road, and the bang-opposite Jahaz Mahal is the fact that both are ASI-protected. Jharna does not come under any authority's purview.
