Tiger population up in Madhya Pradesh

The Madhya Pradesh Forest Minister, Mr. Shiv Netam, has informed the State Wildlife Advisory Board that the tiger population in the State, which stood at 912 in 1993, has now gone up to 927. Some forest department officers had earlier pointed out that attempts were being made at the official level to fabricate the tiger census figures.
