A Deputy Ranger posted in Daboka range was driving a truck loaded with illegally felled teak logs himself when the DFO intercepted him near Daboka. A case was filed against this officials and the truck which belonged to the Deputy Ranger was confiscated. Out of 11,000 hectares of reserve forest area in Kaki, 6000 hectares are under illegal encroachment. Large areas in Naukhati under Lumding Reserve Forest is also under encroachment.
