In a move aimed at getting a good price for locally produced timber, the Tamil Nadu Government has lifted the ban on interstate transport of timber. The GO 88 dated May 13 effectively annuls the Tamil Nadu Timber Order, 1982 which had been clamped down on the transport of timber from Tamil Nadu to other parts of the country.
