The Tamil Nadu Government is in the process of finalising a new master plan for Chennai, which will incorporate features to permit development of hotel projects in suitable locations, said the Chief Minister, Ms J. Jayalalithaa. Inaugurating the annual convention of the Federation of Hotels & Restaurants Association, she said the Government has taken note of the hotel industry's request regarding the construction of multi-storeyed hotel projects.
