The Water Resource Ministry has suggested a meeting of the Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu and Kerala to discuss and finalise implementation of the inter-state Scheme of merging the Keeriyar,Pamba, Achankoil and Vaiparu rivers to divert their excess waters, now going into the sea, to solve the water problem in the drought prone southern districts of Tamil Nadu.
