The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Mr. M. Karunanidhi, has urged the Centre to lift the ban imposed on sandalwood exports, according to a State Government release. In a letter to the Prime Minister, Mr. A.B. Vajpayee, Mr. Karunanidhi has called for the removal of the restrictions on sandalwood exports. The ban has resulted in a severe financial loss to the State and the Centre.
