Hyderabad, Sept. 19: The government has decided to punish those who built illegal constructions upstream of Osamansagar and Himayatsagar. It is contemplating issuing an ordinance specifying penal action for the purpose. This was decided at a high-level meeting of the chief secretary and officials concerned with the implementation of government order 111. The GO is meant to protect the catchment area of lakes up to 10 km from the full tank level from encroachments and illegal constructions. Mr Satya Prasad, special government pleader, informed a division bench comprising Chief Justice Anil R. Dave and Justice R. Subhash Reddy of the developments on Friday. The bench was dealing with a petition filed by Dr S. Jeevananda Reddy of Jubilee Hills. He urged the court to direct the government to cancel all approvals given in violation of GO 111. The petitioner
