Tourism Ministry to launch Rs. 3.5 b infrastructure development project

The Tourism Ministry and the Sri Lanka Tourist Board will launch a Rs. 3.5 billion infrastructure development project to develop tourism soon. Minister of Industries, Investment Promotion and Tourism Anura Bandaranaike in his address to the Tourist Hotels Association (THASL) and Association of inbound tour operators (SLAITO) AGM at the Transasia last Thursday said that this first ever major infrastructure project envisages the development of tourism facilities and adding value to products such as Negombo Dutch Canal, Gregory Lake in Nuwara Eliya, New Hotels School building for Kandy and the road network in Sigiriya.
