Toyota, GM create green alliance

  • 25/04/1999

The newly born alliance between Toyota Motor Corp. and General Motors Corp. on the development and production of environment-friendly cars shows how serious the world's automakers are about getting green vehicles on the road. Following a similar tie-up at the end of 1997 between what is now Daimler-Chrysler Ag and Ford Motor Co., it also promises to accelerate the race among big carmakers to get their environment-related technologies accepted as international standards.
