Toyota Motor Corp., in an effort to hire more women in its factories, has spent 200 million yen ($1.7 million) over the past year to make two plants more "women friendly," said company executives. The move is a response to the revised equal-opportunity law that went into effect in April, which abolishes a ban on women's working late at night, and thus allows women to work the late shift that ends around 1:30 a.m.
