500 trees dead: The revamping of the Capital's traffic system may have come at a price not many Delhiites will be willing to pay. Out of the 600 fully grown trees transplanted while the 19 city flyovers were being built, not even 500 have survived. While government officials and companies who carried out the transplanting put the survival figures at 50 per cent, the number may be much lower.
