With the government busy formulating a national urban transport policy, key transport sector players are doing the groundwork for highlighting the significance of intelligent transport system (ITS). This is a broad range of technologies, which the Association of ITS (AITS) feels can totally change the traffic scenario in India. The association is organising the seventh Asia-pacific conference here between August 9-11 where it would present a draft policy paper highlighting the importance of the system in India. It would also call for a uniform policy on transportation in the country.
