With the Tree Authority yet to be formed, Clean Bhayandar-Green Bhayandar is definitely not the mantra for the authorities at the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation(MBMC).It should be noted that 250 full grown trees along the Dr Hedgevar Marg from the Western Express highway No 8 (Kashimira) to the Railway crossing were hacked to pave way for the construction of the 120 ft road estimated to cost about 27 crores. The Municipal administration had agreed to plant 1500 trees on the sides of the road as a compensation for the felling of the 250 trees by the Municipal contractor but with the monsoons just round the corner it seems improbable that the Corporation will be able to complete the job.
