In an effort to protect the newly planted saplings in various parts of Chennai and its suburbs, the Forest Department has created a roving 'Tree Squads'.Carrying a pick axe, crowbar, pruning knife, sicle and a plastic pot in a tricycle, the four-member teams have been allotted specific areas to protect saplings planted by the department.
