The Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar today assured that rain trees along the D B Bandodkar Marg would not be axed unless all options were explored and that clear instructions on this had been given to the Conservator of Forests. "There is a need to widen the road from Campal to Miramar. I have asked the PWD to ensure that a study be carried out and till then there will be no cutting of trees," Mr. Parrikar stated in an appeasing tone following Tuesday's hue and cry from environmentalists and NGOs against the cutting of trees.
