Green cover is depleting fast and the situation is turning from bad to worse in the newly developed suburb of New Shimla of Himachal Pradesh. Coniferous trees are gradually falling prey to toxic material and household waste and have started drying up. In the past one year, more than 100 trees have dried up in the suburb which has a population of 35,000.
