It has been reported that numerous trees worth several lakhs of rupees, located in an area spread over 10 acres, adjacent to the road at Areshiroor of Golihole panchayat, Kundapur, Mangalore, have been felled for the sake of a high school in the name of the Kollur Mookambika temple, with however the local forest department turning a blind eye to the incident.
