Tribals and poor need maximum help from government:CM

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that development of those sections of society is most important which are considered most backward and deprived. In comparison to well off section, it is masses and specially SC, ST and poor sections of society who need government's help more. This is why the state government is laying full emphasis on undertaking maximum number of welfare and development works in favour of the deprived sections of society. Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing a conference organised at Bittan Market Dussehra Maidan here today by Madhya Pradesh branch of Akhil Bharatiya Adivasi Vikas Parishad (All India Tribal Development Council). Chief Minister Chouhan said that better facilities of health, education and employment are being extended to tribals. Most of the announcements made at Adivasi Panchayat held one and half years ago, have been implemented. Chouhan said that apart from increase in scholarships of tribal students, they are being given Rani Durgawati incentive awards, training of pilot and airhostess is being imparted to them. Besides, they have been given the benefits of free coaching, uniforms, books and tribal girl students are being provided free bicycles. With a view to making more employment opportunities available to tribal students, they are being imparted technical training. Apart from constituting Rani Durgawati Vahini, efforts have also been undertaken for immortalising memories of tribal freedom fighters like Raghunath Shah, Shankar Shah etc. Chief Minister Chouhan said that persons possessing forest lands till the year 2005 are to be given land rights. The Union government has been urged to remove discrepancies in the Act enacted in this connection. Chouhan said that the government is contemplating to withdraw minor criminal cases against tribals. He said that the decision to increase Tendu leaf bonus thrice is in favour of tribals. The Chief Minister assured to allot land and provide necessary financial assistance for construction of Adivasi Bhawan at Bhopal by Adivasi Vikas Parishad. State president and national vice president of Adivasi Vikas Parishad Faggan Singh Kulaste said that Chief Minister Chouhan has given special attention on redressing basic problems of tribals. Kulaste said that the state government is vigilant about protection of triabls' rights in special recruitment campaign. Tribal students are getting better benefits in the fields of education and employment. He advised to avoid complex process in implementation of Forest Rights Act. Parishad's working president and Jail Minister Antar Singh Arya said that important works are being undertaken in Madhya Pradesh for tribals' welfare. For this, Chief Minister Chouhan deserves praise. Minister of State for Panchayat and Rural Development Ms Meena Singh said that large-scale benefit has been given to tribal people from Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana, Ladli Laxmi Yojana, Mazdoor Suraksha Yojana and distribution of free bicycles to girl students. Minister of State for Tribal Welfare Ms Ranjana Baghel said that Chief Minister Chouhan has written a new chapter of development in the state. Increase in tribal students' scholarships and stipends is a historic achievement. Tribal leadership has also been given importance. Besides, Chief Minister Chouhan has also undertaken efforts to preserve tribal culture. Earlier, Chief Minister Chouhan was welcomed by putting the tribal turban on his head. Those present at the programme included MP Ms Anusuiya Uike, MLA Gyan Singh, Chain Singh, Paway Singh Pargi, Sampatiya Uike, Shashi Thakur, officer bearers of Adivasi Vikas Parishad and large number of tribal representatives drawn from various districts.
