The Telangana State is poised to take off in a big way in solar power and is determined to generate a whopping 2,000 MW of power through this source, said Vice-Chairman & Managing Director of Telangana State New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation (TNREDCL), C. Srinivas Rao.
The government has also prepared an ambitious roadmap to encourage skilled but unemployed youth to go the start-up way with solar energy generating units across all the districts with targets of 400 MW each, he said.
The State government has also proposed that all its offices would generate solar power on their roof-tops soon. He was speaking at the valedictory of a 90-day certification of ‘Surya IOM Professional Course’, conducted by the Surabhi Educational Society, for ITI students.
Solar power was the only and ultimate source of energy to light hundreds of villages in rural India, opined the Chairman, Sri Ramananda Tirtha Research Institute and former IAS officer, P.V.R.K. Prasad.
