Two-day workshop on child anaemia gets underway

A two-day training programme for trainers got underway here today on prevention of anaemia among children to save them from malnutrition and importance of Vitamin A and zinc for them. The workshop was inaugurated by Director of National Rural Health Mission Madhya Pradesh, Shri Ravindra Pastor. Child health/vaccination officers are participating in the workshop. Training will be imparted to officers of districts of Bhopal, Indore, Narmadapuram, Gwalior and Chambal divisions on July 26 and remaining districts on July 27. Mission Director Shri Pastor said that it is necessary for prevention of anaemia and use of Vitamin A and zinc that children should be motivated for this. He said that children should not feel that something is being imposed on them. These medicines should be incorporated in their daily meals.
Shri Pastor also gave information about measures being taken for removing malnutrition among children. National Programme Officer Dr. Manpreet Chadhha of Micro Nutrient Initiation, UNICEF’s nutrition expert Dr. Ashim Garg and child health & nutrition experts including Dr. Pragya Tiwari, Dr. Sheela Bhambhal, Dr. Ashok Kumar Rawat, Dr. Santosh Shukla, Dr. Jaishree Chandra and Dr. Gulfam Hashmi also gave necessary information to trainees.
