The Red Fort will now be surrounded by green. The Union Ministry of Tourism and Culture has undertaken tow projects to green the surroundings of monument. The first project is a green patch between Red Fort's Lahore Gate and the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Road which will be called the Dara Shikoh Memorial Park. The landscaping of the area, being undertaken by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, is part of the ongoing renovation work at the Red Fort.
