DH News Service, Bangalore: Environmentalist A N Yellappa Reddy on Monday said that urban local bodies should take up programmes for treatment of sewage water, and also take the necessary steps to ensure scientific disposal of garbage. Making a presentation at the one-day workshop on solid waste management, organised for Environmental Engineers in Bangalore, the environmentalist said that many more dialysis centres and heart care hospitals are coming up in smaller cities. But no steps have been taken to ensure that the general public does not get affected by diseases.
