UN award for Bhagidari

The Delhi Government citizen-government partnership programme Bhagidari has won the United Nations (UN) Public Service Award 2005 for improving transparency, accountability and responsiveness in public service. An official statement said that this was the first time that an entry from India had been selected for this prestigious award. The UN Public Service Award was started in 2000 to recognise institutional contributions made to enhance the role, professionalism and visibility of public service.
