The world's forests are in crisis mode, with only 20 per cent of the world's original forest cover still in existence, said Greenpeace International representative Paul Hohnen, on behalf of a coalition of NGOs attending the International Forum on Forests. The co-chairman of the Fourth Session of the Intergovernmental Forum on Forests (IFF), Bagher Asadi of Iran, said that significant progress has been achieved during the final session, which ended on February 11.
