Delhi cabinet approved a proposal of Rs 10.5 crore for developmental works in 105 unauthorised colonies that came up in the city before March 2002. The funds would be spent on the construction of roads and drains in these colonies. This is the first time that the Delhi Government has allocated funds for the construction of roads and drains in unauthorised colonies. In a decision that will go a long way in providing basic amenities and civic infrastructure to millions of people living in these unauthorised colonies, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit approved Rs 10.5 crore for the construction of roads and drains as part of the Government policy.
