Under-pass at the cost of environment

Following their tradition of irresponsibility, more than five hundred trees have been cut down on the pretext of constructing The Mall underpass by the concerned authorities. Keeping in view the desperate need of the Lahore city (Pakistan) for greenery especially on these two busy roads (The Mall and Canal Road), the razing of trees is an act which cannot be explained by any logic. The sheer number of the trees cut down speaks for the avarice on the part of the constructors. Trees from one kilometer each from the four sides of the underpass have been cut down and the City deprived of the irreplaceable treasure of trees and greenery
