Scientists are to dive hundreds of metres below the surface of the South Pacific Ocean to search for new forms of life thriving in the heat of underwater volcanoes. The joint Japanese-New Zealand team will use the world's deepest-diving research submarine to reach the Brothers volcano, which sits 1,850 metres under water north-east of New Zealand.
