An eight-member UNDP team led by administrator Kemal Dervish yesterday visited Balur Math Bosti, a slum area of Barisal city, and inspected different slum development projects funded by the UNDP. Cathy Dervish, UN resident coordinator, Renata Dessallien, UNDP resident representative, Tegegnework Gettu, UNDP director of the office of the administrator and chief of staff, Rosemary Nuamah, special assistant and policy adviser of the administrator, Manoj Basnyat, UNDP country director, Boaz Paldi, UNDP media producer and Johannes Jacobus Van Der Merwe, regional security specialist, were other members of the visiting team. The UNDP team participated in view exchange programmes with the stakeholder slum dwellers at the newly constructed slum community centre and assured them continuation of help for development of living standard of the slum dwellers.
