UNDP to promote Sualkuchi as rural tourism centre

Sualkuchi, the silk capital of eastern India, may soon become a rural tourism centre following a pilot intervention by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). Sualkuchi has been stagnating with silk production, despite thriving economy of silk would over. UNDP is planning to intervene to turn it into a rural tourism centre.
