The UNICEF is sending shortly a team of experts to study the drought-like situation the State is facing due to the failure of monsoon this time. Disclosing this yesterday before the newsmen here, UNICEF Representative to India Cecilio Adorna said that the world body had the experience in working in various situations, including drought in many parts of the world. However, the UNICEF Representative refrained from foretelling the thrust areas or the specific role of the UNESCO in tackling the drought-like situation in Asom at this juncture. "We are interested in looking for what will be of help to Asom. The Government here is interested in knowing the impact of the drought on the poor farmers. We will look into it,' he said.
