U.P. Cabinet's green signal for Metro

Fulfilling a long- pending demand of the people, the Uttar Pradesh Government has approved a mega project to link the Delhi Metro with Noida and Ghaziabad by 2010. Noida and Ghaziabad would be linked with Delhi by the Metro rail before the beginning of the Commonwealth Games in the National Capital in March, 2010. The State Cabinet approved the proposal for the same on Thursday. The metro project for Noida, costing Rs 736 crores would be financed on 85-15 basis, with Noida bearing 85 per cent of the cost and rest by the Centre.
