UP earmarks Rs 736 cr for Metro link to Noida

The Uttar Pradesh Government today cleared the decks for extension of Metro rail to Noida by approving Rs 736 crore for the project in Noida. Entering Noida from Ashok Nagar, in Delhi, Metro rail will connect Gole Chackar near Sector-15, Sector-16, Sector-18 Market, Sectors-28, 29, Golf Course and City Centre in Sector-32. The state government had already given its nod, but a formal commitment for the project outlay was awaited. Besides, some agreements were to be signed by the authority, and UP state government with DMRC in connection with some tax exemptions and other facilities sought by DMRC from UP on a par with the Delhi Government. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation had sought exemptions totalling Rs 611 crore from the UP Government.
