The joy of UP resuming supply of raw water to Sonia Vihar plant last week after nearly a month's dry spell has proved to be a short-lived one. Instead of the required 300 cusecs, Delhi is getting just one-third and the 140-million gallons daily (MGD) Sonia Vihar plant is able to treat only 50 MGD. As a result, large parts of south and east Delhi are facing a severe water shortage.
