The first day of the two-day special session of the Delhi Assembly on Monday witnessed uproarious scenes over the power and water crisis in the city. However, the special session was called to introduce and pass the Delhi Cooperative Societies Bill, 2003. The BJP also staged a walkout over the proposed renaming of a road in the Saraswati Vihar area after a Congress leader. As the proceedings started, BJP members moved an adjournment motion demanding a discussion over the power and water crisis in the city. The motion was moved by the leader of the Opposition, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi.
