US and UK may oppose ban on under-18 soldiers

A draft International Labour Organisation convention seeking an "immediate and universal ban" on the worst forms of child labour" - due to be agreed at this month's annual ILO conference-may be watered down under pressure from the US and UK governments, which believe it would prevent them from recruiting volunteers aged from 16 to 18 into their armed services.
