The United States Environmental Agency (EPA), a state-funded American environment agency has honoured the "Eco-Frig" project in India for its exemplary work to safeguard the ozone layer. The "Eco-Frig" project is a joint efort of India, Germany and Switzerland in the field of producing cooling devices such as refrigerators and freezers.
