The US and five developing countries called on the World Trade Organisation to launch a new action agenda to boost participation by poorer nations in the global trading system through strengthened co-operation with other international agencies. The sponsors want the proposal to be adopted by trade ministers when they meet in the US city of Seattle next month to give the go-ahead for further global trade liberalisation talks.
